Darlington Carers Support supports those of us living across Darlington, who are looking after someone. The service is provided by Durham County Carers Support. The support they offer to carers 18 and over includes:

Local support from Young Carers Darlington
Young Carers Darlington work with Young Carers (from the age of 5), Young Adult Carers (up to the age of 25), and their families, to provide support where needed. The service ensures that children and young people are protected from inappropriate caring and have the support they need to thrive and enjoy positive childhoods, to achieve their full potential.
The service supports Young Adult Carers (YACs) to navigate the challenges of moving into adult life with a caring role. They can provide advocacy and advice around different issues relating to your caring role, and tailored 1:1 support where needed.
How we help:
- Support plan following a Young Carer Needs Assessment (for YACs under 18) or
an assessment of need for YACs over 18 - 1:1 support sessions
- Whole family support
- Peer support when needed
- Signposting, information and advice
- Access to Carer Breaks fund
- Support with school, college or university
